The aim of the walk is to make people aware of opportunities to explore the open downland and lesser-known footpaths. It follows the South Downs way to Beachy Head, then across open downland and returns on little-used tracks. Commentary on history of the downland, wildlife, geology, archaeology, etc. Steep climb at start, then gentler slopes; some stiles and rough ground.

There is a café at the start of the walk. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on the lead as there may be livestock in fields. Please be advised that there may be some stiles which may not have dog gates.
There are toilet facilities en route at Beachy Head. This walk is not wheelchair friendly.
