Dir: Stephen Frears | UK | 2022 | 108 minsCast | Sally Hawkins, Steve Coogan, Harry Lloyd, Mark Addy
Sally Hawkins, Steve Coogan and Harry Lloyd star in veteran British director Stephen Frears (Dangerous Liaisons, Philomena, High Fidelity) warm, wryly amusing depiction of one of the most incredible archaeological finds in UK history – the 2012 discovery of the remains of King Richard III, lost for over 500 years, beneath a carpark in Leicester. Found after a search orchestrated by amateur historian Philippa Langley (likeably played by Hawkins), whose unrelenting, passionate investigations had been met with incomprehension by her friends and family and with scepticism by experts and academics, The Lost King is an inspiring story about a woman who took on the country's most eminent historians and forced them to think again about one of the most controversial kings in England's history.
Please note that the screenings on Thursday 10 November and Thursday 1 December will be captioned.
